Moselle, enjoy the culture!
Embedded into the wine- and riverlandscape, lie the scenic Moselle-villages with their typical half-timbered houses
The houses decorate the townscape and are a real eye catcher. 2000 years ago it were the Romans who brought the grapevines to the Moselle. Trier, the oldest town in Germany is home to many ancient Roman antiquities. Peculiar structures like the ‘Porta Nigra' and other excavations are the remnants from that timeperiod.

The wine growing area of the Moselle is approximately 8,500 Ha. By planting in slate soil, the Moselle is unique in its kind. It’s very moist and mineral content. In the fall when the grapes are harvested and the grape juice starts to ferment, staying at the Moselle is quite comfortable. Now is also the time to try one of the federweißen (a young wine) at one of the many parties.
